Connecting to the Local Area Network (LAN)

Please Choose an operating system: Windows XP | Windows 2000

Windows XP

1) First, left click on the start button and choose the Control Panel Button. From here choose the Network and Internet Connections option.

2) This will bring you to another menu, from which you should choose the Network Connections option.

3) From here, Right click on the Local Area Connection icon and Choose Properties.

4) Left click on the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) option to highlight it (as seen to the right). Then left click on the properties button in the lower right hand corner.

5) This brings up the Internet Protocol Properties window. You want to make sure that Obtain an IP address automatically and Obtain DNS server address automatically are selected.

Windows 2000

1) Left click on the start button, left click on settings and then choose theNetwork and Dial-up connection option.

2) Right click on the Local Area Connection and choose Properties.

3) Left click on the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) option to highlight it (as seen to the right). Then left click on the properties button in the lower right hand corner.

4) This brings up the Internet Protocol Properties window. You want to make sure that Obtain an IP address automatically and Obtain DNS server address automatically are selected.
